What makes a book? That depends on who you are and what your experiences have led you to believe. I am but a simple senior in high school. I have the same concerns that others my age have. I worry about homework, grades, and college. I often wonder to myself, "If I have all of this stress on my shoulders, why am I piling on more by staying up until ungodly hours of the night?"
The answer is that there is one thing that alleviates my stress more that anything else: books. Even if it means staying up at night to finish just a few more chapters, I will do it!
I have been asked, "What is so important about this book? Why would you stay up just to read it?" These people tend not to see books the same way I, and thousands of other people do. They see books as words on pages that are tightly bound together. I see them as portals into other worlds, filled with creative new settings, characters, and ideas. These books create whole new worlds and people.
Books provide an escape. They are your escape rope from the stresses of everyday life. They allow you to dive into something new and exciting. For a short time, you can live a different life as a different person. These things are welcome changes, especially at the end of the day. I am sure I am not the only one who feels this way.
On average, I read about one book a week. So, in order to help others alog on their way to find good books, I will rate and review what I read. I have a Nook Color, so that is where I read. Free books are aplenty in Nook world, as are obscure titles. I will try to introduce these to you, in order to make them better known.
There are the good, the bad, and especially the ugly. I will try and expose them all.
Thank you! <3
